Comps
After flicking through a couple of editions of Sea Anglers, I ahve noticed that all the penn comps are in one section. I know the anglers who fish these matches are on average better than the fishermen we get on here.
However I was thinking arranging comps for members of WSF. Each person has to sign in using their WSF name. Also there will be no penn points and a small entrance fee which covers the 2 pools, biggest fish
(70% payout) and biggest bag (30%). before you all start complaing that the comps will be run on the Thames, well think again, afterall only a small minority of people on this site are local to the Thames. I plan to have a comp at Orford, and Felixstowe for those in the North of Essex and a comp at Dungie for those in Kent. Also to stop people complaining of paying out lots of money for the pools, the pools will only £5 for both pools (not a lot of money to enter). Also by having a bigger pay out for the biggest fish gives everybody a chance as anybody could fluke a decent fish.
One final thing, is that everycomp only certain fish shall count for the biggest fish pool. This is to prevent a poxy pouting or pin whiting taking the biggets fish. In the event of no decent fish the pool money will be paid to longest bag.
Please give sensible feed back regarding these comps.2010 species

So will this be fished as a series or just individual venues I think a series of matches will be better.

Problem with series of matches is that if you cant fish all the comps and we are having a league then you wont win the league.
I would prefer individual matches with biggest fish and biggest bag with the same competitor winning both pools.
Also every comp will have specific rules such as 2 rods at Orford (more chance for cod) and 1 rod if we are fishing a small venue (prevents casting over each other), also some fish will not count as biggest fish, but will count for biggest bag, e.g pout, whiting and rockling.
Finally the comp will be run on the SAMF species for points but incorperate the NFSA size limits (stops people fishing for small fish)2010 species
