    Question Help

Hi all, my son is off to CUBA on saturday and although not an angler says he fancies having a go. They are going all inclusive and the brochures of the resort hotel mention fishing, Are these organised boat trips worth the money? Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure if this is relevant since it refers to 4 years ago. However, from Varadero there are a number of combination trips (fishing, snorkling & barbecue) that seem to work. So-called Big Game fishing trips will invariably catch small barracuda, although a my son caught a small shark which delighted the crew, presumably because they wouldn't have to eat barracuda again! LOL The tackle tends to be fairly antiquated, indeed we lost the biggest fish of the trip when the tail treble pulled out of the wooden plug with the fish deep below the boat. Overall worth the trip, however if only fishing, I'm not sure I could honestly recommend. Hope this helps. Regards Andy
