Hello everyone ,
Just like to bring you up to date with the Channel Islands for the last few weeks ,big cliff better come back with his tales of big fish as Alderney is fishing exceptionally well with all these species being caught from shore and boats. Bass, thick lip mullet, conger eel, wrasse, bream, bull huss, small eyed ray, pollack, red bream black bream, red gurnard, golden grey mullet, trigger fish, undulate ray, plaice over 3lb,garfish,etc!
a Jersey angler caught a nice mullet of 4lb 11oz,whilst also another Jersey fisherman caught a black bream of 5lb 10oz,very well done guys well worth the trip to alderney bass are still feeding well on plugs.
Boats, bream on the bottom plus brill and turbot.
JERSEY SHORE:
A lot of red mullet this year, inc specimens, small eyed rays on sand eel bait,a lot of small bream still showing black and red,a lot of bass on beaches and plugging from rock marks.
JERSEY BOATS:
fishing the great bank recently was very good but sad to say the local trawlers have moved in so gone slack.
What's so wonderful about fishing in the Channel Islands is always being able to intuitively connect with what is happening on land or at sea ,most of us are hooked for life. It's like an undiscovered gold mine waiting to be discovered the gold miner being the fisherman .The Boss man being in the tackle shop telling us where the seams are and how to crack them ."A single conversation across the counter with a wise man is worth a months study of books.
