Landlocked casting club in Midlands?
Hey
Does anyone know of a field casting club in the Midlands?
Cain kindly gave me some casting tuition last weekend and he's infected me with the casting bug!
I even had to go down the local football field to have a go this lunchtime (where I got blinkin soaked!) to have a practice!
I don't want to start practicing purely on my own as I'm sure that bad habits will very quickly creep in!
Cheers
sean2009 Targets: Common Smut, Thornback Ray, Mullet, Fly-caught Bass, Dogfish
2008 Species: Starry Smut, Bass, Plaice, Flounder, Dab, Mackie, Weaver, Whiting, 9lb Cod

I seem to recall this coming up before. I don't think there is a club as such but I believe that there is some done at Edgbaston reservoir.

You could try sending a pm to philtherod who is a casting instructor in the South West who may be able to give you more info.

Assuming the Dave is agreeable to this, when would everyone want to do it?
I guessing after New Year now, as we're only a couple of weeks from Christmas ATM.
Any suggestions on venue?
HERE is a list of reservoirs in the UK. Edgbaston looks pretty central.

Short answer to op is no, The Uksf hold there comps at Huntingdon racecourse, a fantastic venue, but being a SSSI it has some restrictions on use. Peterborough showground was used for many years but with house building and other development is now not usable for safety reasons. Surfcast wales is most likely the easiest to get to from the midlands via motorway. ASC at bircham is also within traveling distance, biggest problem being the amount of traffic during the summer months.
