river wye,(wales)
thinking of having a go for some wye pike over xmas in the south wales or on the border region, any1 fish ere much got any info ud be willing to share with a fellow piker?
biggest this year so far, bull huss 9lbs
so far 2008.......

go to hereford mate find a little place called holme lacy,the bridge over the river fish downstream of the bridge deep and slow and full of pike to 25plus.ive ad pike there to 7 pound and had bigger ones take em on the way in 1 3 foot in front of me scared the chit out of me .pm me and ill fill u in mite even come with u.also pondsticll holds some monsters over 40plus and is only 15mins from me.

can't remember the name of the area,but fishing opposite the beaumont golf club at hereford throws up a few.also known for very good barbel and chub
think it could be the spot where over 300lb of chub were caught by an angler in a comp

ive fished that strech before good fishing but i normally fish home lacey u get bigger fish there.TIGHT LINES

im up for that, id like to beat my pb of 18 an a half but its getting hard down ere aint heard of a 20 for too long.
40lb pike!! yeehe i like the sound of that mate where is that pond is it a big place?
back to the wye, if i fished at the bridge ar holme lacy what would be the best baits, tactics? im an experienced pike angler so have got a good grip of what to try but insider info beats all that.

Hi SBM,Im from pembroke and used to fish lilyponds often.Now living in newport gwent and have been thinking of trying the wye myself!If you are thinking of coming up this way let me know and if you dont mind i will join you.
Unfortunately i have not fished it before so have no info to help you,but will ask local fishing shop and get back to you!
