hi all the title says it all really.
once the wings are cut off is there any part that cant be eaten?
whats the best way to skin the wings?
some ideas of how to cook them also would be great.
    thanks
Today she met me at the door, said I would have to choose, if I picked up that fishing rod today, she'd be packing all her things and she'd be gone by noon....well I'm gonna miss her when I get home tonight.

never landed a decent skate/ray in uk to cook and skin myself mate. however its also one of my favourite eating fish growing up abroad miles away. lovely when grilled in foil/banana leaf with lime and chilli i have eaten skin on and skin off. its also tasty fried in batter( in south shields) its amazingly gourguoes in a spicy stew . bbq with ur fave spices can be lovely too. the flesh between the eyes are considered a delicacy in Greece. Enjoy ur skate/ray

The fish will be a lot easier to skin if you leave the wings on the fish and skin them on the beach or boat before you come home.
this is how i do mine if i bring any home, that way you dont have any mess when you get home.
Another good and tasty part of the skate is the cheeks, just either side of head behind the eyes.

you need to catch one first...

my grandad used to have a board with nails in, and would slap the wings on it and whip the skin off in one swipe, i guess it takes alot of practice and a technique but ive never tried myself.

surely theres some vids on yootube?
