Schuey,
What's the match format, book in, etc?
If I've not murdered the family by then I might be interested in getting along for a cast or three.

Match is from 3pm till 7pm. People fishing competition usually meet on the east side of the nightclub towards the end of the pier. If your fishing best to get on the pier for 2.20pm ish ? £10 to enter .... the organiser takes your name and money and you then pick a piece of paper out of a hat ... the match is a walk off which means the person who picks the lowest number walks to where they want to fish, then the next lowest number walks off and so on .... the person last to walk off is the person who picks the highest number . Match is sizable fish only .... most fish keep alive in a bucket of water okay but if you catch something good that you wish to return immediately someone will weigh it for you. Once the match starts you are allowed to change fishing spots if you wish. No overhead casting on the top deck and no leaving litter or seaweed.
Most matches (depending on numbers fishing) pay out top 3 overall weights, heaviest flat fish, heaviest round fish and most sizable fish . Any baits are allowed to be used.
Thats about it i think.

The Pier very rarely gets closed due to the wind. A gale force southerly on a spring tide may see them close it. It will take a huge sea and strong wind for it to close, though they may lock the jetty up on occasions if it looks dangerous. Aint too sure what time the pier closes this week as the nightclub has only recently reopened and will be open most evenings this week. Expect you could probably fish till 7-30pm - 8pm but cant guarantee it .

If I can get some bait; I will be there to hand my tenner across.
