Milford Haven ,what think you ?
My Admiralty charts for SW Wales turned up this week, so I'm nosing through them gently.
It seems that there's a good few interesting spots for boat fishing in the mouth of the Haven, Thorn Island, Chapel Rocks, etc, which ought to fish a bit like pinnacle rocks in general.
Question is, that area looks like it could be pretty exposed in just about any wind direction as far as a fourteen footer is concerned, so would I be better advised to be looking further upriver for sensible fishing than out around the headlands there ?
What would be the sensible seaward limit for a strong, fast, well set-up fourteen footer in, say, F2-3 ?
Cheers,
Davey.

You can never tell what its going to be like outside the haven, the amount of times we have run down the haven thinking its going to be flat outside and got there and its been rough as ****. All you can can do is just head down there see what its like thorne island and chapel rocks arnt normally to bad but st annes gets nasty quickly. Plenty plenty of marks to fish inside the haven though. The rock marks along the dale side will produce pollack and wrasse and rays almost anywhere

I'll send you a PM in a while, Paul.
The intention was to get out around there next summer, it looks like a rare old beast of a place with even a mild blow on out round the heads, and winter is probably best spent around the fire in the pub by the looks and sounds of it.
Cheers,
Davey.
