Foreshore Boat Report

Caught the 4:30 lock out tonight on my mates Boat due to mine being in for Prop repair. We were the only ones that braved the Gap in the weather to take the chance for a few hours fishing.
arrived at the same mark as i caught my 7lb bass on sunday so was quite optimistic. anyway we fished using whole squids and the bites were very far and between. I had a lovely bite and ended up playing onto the boat a nice 9lb thornback it remained quiet for another period until my rod tip went tap tap WHAK!, it nearly bent right over in half, i grabbed the rod and brought in my second thornback of the evening, this one come in on the scales at 11.5lb,
2 lovely Rays in less then 4 hours, we then came in on the 8:45pm lock.

Nice Thornies for a couple of hours but i have noticed ther seems to be a lack of codling /cod off the boats recently and more off the shore or is that just me?

yeh have to agree with you there! Cod seem very scarce, we had two 2.5lb codling a few weeks back and since then have had anything else BUT!.
At the CBYC cod comp on the weekend only 3 sizable fish weighed in. But at the other end of the scale we have been catching lots and lots of very very small codling, so maybe goodtimes ahead

Well done on the doggies, not bad for someone that catches 5inch fish in the river taff using bits of fluff as bait,

Sid's boat was very nice and spacious, went well!

it was not very calm, ok to fish but we did start to feel a bit roapy towards the end so came in about 8.30ish

after hitting the floor last time i will never make the mistake again!
