I have used Okuma Mag for a while, I have the 20 and the 30 they shouldn't be slow (far from it). You say you have had 1 of them serviced but they still run the same, who serviced it for you? What oil did they use? do you use the same oil on the bearings when you oil them?

They are a bit noisy on the retrieve (just a quiet clickin sound) but this is normal. If they give a noise during cast this can be resolved by cleaning and oiling the bearings and adjusting the spool float knob.

They are good reels if you set them up right. They are very well made (if not a bit to over engineered) one thing they are not though is the most user friendly reel out there because they can be very fast and need a smooth cast. I now use abu 6500 sports mags, they are much friendlier and easier to use (I have never nested them) but they lack the grunt and build quality of the Okuma.

Flearider, I have two of them (CS), and had similar problems to you. Solution...clean out the bearings and use EP90 to lubricate. You should find the reel much more manageable, and be able to reduce the magnets. Hope this helps, as they are a good reel and don't deserve to be left on the shelf.

+There is a cheep metal washer inside the cap ,change that for a bras one, makes for a huge difference .It is a very under rated reel.

thanks for all that.mart gardner from ramsgate serviced it.He is good does my other reels their lovely. The noise is not winding in ? But actually in the cast. Its more like if a marlin grabed me bait and started running with it.I agree they are built solid with a quick pick up,ideal for what i want them for.I no theirs no need for longcasting but im glad iv,e found out theirs a problem ?Also regarding the cap, handle side i,ve had it right undone still slow.I know he uses yellow Rocket on bearings.sh.t thats gonna bug me ,that they shouldn,t be slow.
