The Answer For Chesil Beach?

Hi Guys

This may seem like a stupid question but after my last strenuous efforts getting too and from my fishing spot on Chesil (ok not the smallest guy but hey) could you use a quad bike to travel along chesil beach?

It would seem an easy answer? Has anybody tried it? Is there a law against it?

Any help would be great.

Regards
Paul

Hello mate, dont know about the quad, but in this age of by-laws, wardens and do gooders, you'd be bound to p*ss someone off. They'd have to catch you though!!
Just bought myself one of these after a monster hike with overnight gear recently.. http://www.humpalumpa.com
Not used it yet but it's had decent reviews. Good bit of kit I reckon, save the back, and a good excuse to carry those extra luxurys for a long session.
Good luck, and if you wizz past some bloke puffing and panting, dragging an overloaded trolley, giss a lift

Have also thought about doing this as a mate has one I could borrow
Have seen something very Quad like moving at speed along the shingle on a couple of nights when I have been down there. So it would seem possible but not sure about legal side of it.

I though about the old SSSI and jurassic coast ****e, i think the only option is to get one and do it.....if you are chased by half a tonne of birdies emptying from the center the answer is go faster!

Or convert the quad bike you ride into a 4 wheel trailer thats motorised, hey still walk but could be used to pull me along .... lol

It could be intresting, if not I have a lawn mover tractor to give a go, without the blades!! That would give the plants and fauna a good going over!

I will check and find out guys!

why not add a electric motor from a golf caddy and adapt it to power your gear along if the batt dies then just put it into free mode and pull it

or just get a dinghy and go across the fleet! simples. you can get one for under a £100 easy, on your roof and away you go. you wont need an engine, just be safe and row across

seen a angler on a quad bike going along the ridge at the dragons teeth a few years back, so it certainly works. but i dont think you would get away with it to long down there with all the protected areas, which is probably a good thing to.

When fishing at Abbotsbury ,past the farm, last year a quad bike kept going up and down from lane to waters edge.Pitch black no lights on quad bike, very noisy and not very popular with other beach users. Not sure about legal, but sure you would not be allowed at Ferrybridge end.
