Poole Harbour Flounder

After fishing a few matches recently and not doing at all well, thought i should go out for a quick session this evening just to try and get a bit of a confidence boost.....

well certainly has done that, managed to land 4 nice sizable flounders 2 undersize ones and about 12 small bass, did have one larger bass but unfortunately and much too my disgust i lost it at the waters edge!! never mind i'll have him when he's even bigger.

biggest flounder 2lb8oz and one other just over 2lb!! happy boy again

Yeah love flounder fishing, always fish the harbour from low water up, tonight's low water was about 5 and fished from 6pm til 9pm.
generally fishes better on the spring tides.

they're always about, just a matter of locating them.

wednesday night produced 32 flounders from 52 anglers at baiter just couldn't locate them myself biggest i think was 2lb 9 3/4..

Sounds like a great evening. From your photo titles it looks like you were fishing Holes Bay. Was this opposite the Holes Bay pub or further up past the Merc garage?

Many thanks

Yeah it was Holes bay, but not where most people fish, in fact it wasn't even on the main road section! have heard of the odd fish from there but not any great numbers of them, as of yet.

If you're looking for a Flounder then the sluice gate area of baiter wouldn't be far of the mark tbh, but i'd avoid it tonight as there is a junior league down there.

Martyn (Seagull Rigs) and I managed to get out for a few hours this morning into the Harbour, but we were over at Arne fishing off Shipstall and Patchins. A couple of nice Flounder between us and a few eels for the smoker. Was nice just to be fishing in the sunshine again despite the sub-zero temps and the frost
