Doubt it but it will not be for lack of trying, no the mark he's caught it at but expect you'll not get moved up there for awhile.

I was looking at my marine charts for that spot, it gives access to fairly deep water close in, the picture is next to Crab Law.

I've had a break from sea fishing since switching across to trout fishing 30 years ago. So I'm busy buying up some gear to get back out again.

Used to fish as a junior with Shiremoor AC, all over the NE coast, didn't really catch a lot but had a good laugh. Favourites are Collywell Bay and Hartley, more because I like the venue.

Age 50 I'm an apprentice all over again, learning and listening.

Hartley one of my top marks, been on Blyth pier this morning since 9am and had to clean up after the muppets the night before. Might see you about on the rocks as I'm out a lot happy fishing George

    George,

Walked from Hauxley up to Amble this morning, the damage to the pier is about 2 planks worth wide, plus some damage to the top of the supporting timber underneath. Doesnt look too bad to be honest, but I did hear a couple say as they walked away "It will have been a fisherman trying to keep warm". Would like to think they are wrong.

Had some practice making a few rigs this afternoon, made myself 5 pulley rigs. Two Pennell setups, two single hook pulleys and a go at a one with a bait protector on it. All new to me .....How times move on.

Used to just tackle up at the venue when I fished in the 80s, now thinking about it, it is much simpler to make it up at home in the warm.

    Ivan
