I gave up on digital scales after weighing a ray 6 times and getting 6 differnent weights. Ive gone back to Avon's now which is what I used to use berfore I spent £50.00 on the Sampson digitals. I find digital scales far too sensitive to the wind and find it too difficult to get an accurate weight of a fish.

I've had 3 sets of digital scales and they've all fallen foul of corrosion. The last set I bought lasted two trips and then stopped working. The battery compartment was rusted up and the batteries leaked. I need a new set but I think I'll go for manual scales.

Has anyone tried the Korum digital scales?

Re. the highlighted part of your post above Mr Fish, is that a reference to the Electro Samson scales in particular or just your observation of digital scales in general ?

Thanks :)
Just in general mate. Mine are getting on now and I don't expect them to be spot on, but have also observed inconsistencies with supposedly certified club scales (sorry, don't know the make, but they're digis).

It seems to me, indoors and under stable conditions they're accurate, but add outside, wind and rain to the mix and they can be way off.

When my current set dies I'll probably get a set of Avons too...
