Just a bit of fun and possibly inspiration. depends if i like the ideas lol.
Lets say you had a blank and you wanted to build YOUR ideal rough ground/conger rod. what would you do? which eyes you'd choose, colours, reel seat etc. I have the rod to strip back but cant decide what to do with it afterwards. I like to have my own rods a bit different. I mean seriously there's more colours to choose from than red and black, blue and black and for some reason lately every other rod I see is purple and black lol.
so the rod I have a century tt tournament. the rather old super heavy red one I want to shed as much weight as possible so that horrible thick red lacquer has to go, along with the under whipping and those horrid fuji bnhg's. I know some people love them but I cant stand the horrible bloody things. in the words of my 10yr old they are fugly. I'm thinking minimas, maybe the chrome and gold or black and gold. I do like the pacbay lct's but think minimas might better on a rough ground rod.

so far the only thing I can decide on is the plain black shrink tube. :roflmao:

    stripped 2k matt coating
if you use minimas use a lined tip as minimas are crap
minimal whip n hi build as light as possible
should loose an ounce or two off it

    Hi,

bearing in mind there's nothing more personal than colours;) ... my next build on a bare, clear coated carbon blank will have mouse grey whippings with bright orange and white trim bands.
I'm with you about the BNHG's : horrible, heavy things from the past ... personaly i'm big fan of ALPS guides:thumbsup:
