    Hi guys,

Bought my boat a couple of years ago but have never been able to identify it! Anyone shed any light on it? Its a great stable boat, if a little heavy!

    Cheers

Looks like some kind of modified Shetland, stick the post in the boat section someone will know for sure.

Nah, chatter is the best place to put it only if you want it to be argued about, then be linked to Brexit and then have something about the boat blamed on either thatcher and/or the unions :)

Good luck in your quest though 666

It could be a microplus hull with a modified cabin; and a Seagull auxiliary.

Not sure about the boat (could be a Shetland of sorts) but nice to sea a Seagull as your auxiliary.

Its a good reliable engine! Think its the Silver Century which is supposed to be 5hp, its man enough to push my boat against the tide where i fish!

Definitely not a Shetland - my first thought was a modified Microplus too - the cabin lines have a Microplus look to them - they did some models of 18 - 20' long - but the bow doesn't have the distinctive Microplus 'snub nose' - when they lost this they added a line running the length of the hull sides about halfway between the gunwale and the waterline which your boat doesn't have (check here: http://www.microplus.dk/models/). Any sign that it was originally made with an outboard well, or does it look like it was originally an inboard powered boat before the outboard pod was added? - that might narrow it down a bit.

Looks a nice boat though so I wouldn't worry about it too much and just get on with enjoying it.

Thank you all for your comments so far!
With a few suggesting Microplus, i have been down that route to a dedicated site! I can confirm, that, due to the size of it, it is definatley not of the Microplus family of boats!

As with most of you, i need insurance for the boat, and have it down as a shetland with my present insurance company
! I dont know what else to do!
