Just having a quick gander through the listings on Evil Bay, to see if I could tempt myself into buying a new reel (dont tell the wife;))
One I had wondered about was a Penn Fathom.
Saw that Keen's Tackle and Guns are selling a Fathom 15 CM (for custom mag i presume) and had a quick look, as have read on this forum how they benefit from being magged.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Penn-Fath...c0394b4&pid=100005&rk=4&rkt=6&sd=272485778470

Looked at it and thought to myself hmmmm hang on, that dont half look familiar...... theyve used the same idea as I had months ago when i put a knobby on the mag adjuster of my 515mag2, and used a float adjuster for the knob :laugh:
Thought i might have been onto a good idea at the time lmao:happydance:

Only thing with the one i used, it has the penn logo on it, and no marker dot like the one on their reel, and where it was the original dial that had the higher/lower markings, Ive had some monumental birdsnests with it due to thinking i had the mags set a few clicks from max, but they were in fact a couple above minimum hahaha

Hi there, the CM means Chris Macey. ;)

It's his new mk2 version knob, his first ones were a small black knurled knob. Now he's gone over to the gold penn one. :)

I noticed. I was just making a joke about it lol
Put a post up a while ago showing how id improved (in my opinion) my 515mag2. Machined some bits up at work and used a spare end float adjustment knob, as shown below.

Thought at least somebody else had a similar idea about how reel parts can serve more than one purpose

I had never been at all tempted by Penn reels until I saw this one. Love it!
