I tried Corpach pier (Loch Linnhe) and Loch Nan Uamh both at high tide recently and caught nowt. No signs of jellyfish or any one else fishing in a persistently cool NW wind.
Few jellyfish when I was down in Greenock last night. Nothing much doing mackerel wise but got a nice LSD using sea bass fillets I was suppose d to have for dinner the night before. Doggies don't mind the sell by date
I was out at sea from Macduff harbour on Sunday and first drift had us into plenty mackies. Some pretty descent sizes to. We didn't chase them to long as we were after ling and cod but still had plenty for everyone to take home.
Was a half descent first trip of the year for me. I missed out on the good sized cod but my mate got a few crackers. Plenty ling on the go but mostly on the small size. 5 species all together on the boat: cod, ling, mackies, 1 dab (i think) and one wee scorpion fish.
Tried Greenock on Monday night. Not a sniff of a mack although lost a decent fish to my bait rod (prob a codling) just at the side. It was dark so I couldn't get a decent look at it. Seal stoating about as I packed up.
Off mate but got the wee yin, only day of the week she's not at Nursery !!!! Until August when they have a place for her so will be able to head out 2/3 weeks come then ! Heading to Staffin on the 2nd of August for 2 nights after spending a week at the Isle of Whithorn with the family ! Back from there on the Saturday, Staffin on the Sunday !!!!!!
Mackerel in the Forth now, mate of a mate filled a box and threw as many back (boat), and a few caught from shore off Kinghorn and Burntisland. Smallish in size but not joeys.
Was going to take my old man out on Saturday but normally hit Portincaple. The route down to the shore isn't the best for the auld yin's kness. Is there any other points around Loch long that are accessible and decent for catching?
Have been at Peterhead most days this week. Numbers dropping. Had 4 today, very little else caught. Over 50 individuals fishing. Went down to Cruden Bay. Good numbers are being taken off the rocks on the North side of the harbour.
