Idiots up here just make fires to keep warm and set the wooden piers alight. Just happened on Amble pier.

There's a lot of filthy buggers who leave a right mess behind, it's appalling, not a few pieces of bait paper but beer cans and other ****e, its often near people's homes and they wonder why some fisherman get a bad name. It's a constant theme on the local forums. The same type of people that throw rubbish out of the car window and fly tip. Scum

Using braid for last few months on Multis- 80lb strait through on rough ground, tackle losses much reduced. A learning point for me was that when hung up on bottom, wrap a few turns around my priest and pull free, but not to overlap the turns as the braid will cut through itself.

I have been using braid on some of my reels for years and love all the benefits of it but I have had a few sessions when fishing braid on one rod and mono on another when all the fish have come on the mono rod. I have a nagging suspicion that certain states of tide and weather are setting up vibrations with the braid and rod and putting fish off.It seems to happen with bass more than anything else
