i've got boat fishing monthly coming down to do a boat test feature soon so thats next up unless i can get in a trip out for some bream and smoothounds.

hopefully once its been in the mag i'll get some decent interest and maybe an order or 2 which would be nice.

im thinking of making a small cat next out of the moulds i've got.

    will end up about 19ft x 9ft.

not sure whether to fit pods and a rear platform on it as i've been told pods on cats don't work very well.

Pods work fine mate. We put aluminium Ones on to gain the extra deck space a friend made them who's a good tig welder.

The boat feature be a nice way to get some attention for some orders, do they charge you for that?

if i fit pods i'll make both sides in one with the platform as well to make it stronger.

would be nice to have pods to keep the deck space to a maximum.

    no charge for the feature.

just got to take them out for a few hours fishing at the same time.

my mates bringing his boat down so he can take the photographer on his boat while i'll have dave barham and another chap on my boat.

Yeah we built the pods with 5mm alumiunum and joined them up with a shelf in the middle to hold ower fuel tank. Pods have hatches as well so they could be used for something but we keep them empty. You want a good tig welder though you don't want them leaking! Lol

i won't be making stainless or ally pods mate.

will be making them with grp and glassing them on the boat.

i'll make up a mould from conti board to the shape i want and use that as the mould to make the first one and if it comes out ok then i'll mould the pod so i have a new mould to make more if needed.

depends on the method you use on how much they will weigh.

you can build them using chopped strand and woven and they will be quite heavy.

if you build them out of a combination cloth they will be lighter and probably stronger.

also when the boat is in the water the pods are supported by the water so that takes some of the weight off the transom.

i will fit stainless bars like i have on my pod that bolt through the pod and on to the transom gunnel to help support the pod. more for looks really.

    Hi Garry,

I would not mind seeing some designs of a possible cabin or cuddy for your boat!

i don't have any designs for a cuddy/wheelhouse on paper as yet.

the designs are in my head mate.

i know what i want it to look like and i will probably end up just making it out of timber and mdf and painting it to take moulds off it.

i can see it in my head and know it will look right so i just get on and make it how i see it.

i will be doing a full sized wheelhouse for it soon if i get enough feedback when the boat goes in boat fishing monthly.
