hi, just wondering if anyone has had a go on the new okuma reel and if it's any good as I'm struggling to find any reviews on the net.
I'm torn between getting this , a Abu blue yonder or a daiwa 7ht millionaire.
Majority of my fishing is on clean beach but would like something for mixed ground as well.

Probably better off getting a fathom, use them anywhere, especially If your looking for a bit of grunt as well.

My mate has one and used it once only............he says it's absolutely awesome, and dare I say better than the fathom???????
I'll wait until I have a go of one before I make any comment.............at the moment I'll stick with my fathoms

Cheers for input guys, still undecided.
Think I need to see one first before I decide.
My mates got a fatham and he rates it highly but didn't want to copy him.

    Hi,

i also would appreciate some unbiased reviews about this reel, ideally from people who really have used it : looking at the video it seems pretty decent casting and i really like the look of it ... at last something different from boring black and gold!;)

Looks very much to me like they've shrunk a saltist 30 and then stuck mags in it. Good idea but would love to see the internals.

**** my ole boots that review was about on par with PMR vid even has band on wrist talk about reading from the packet he didn't have much of a clue what he was going on about i sure wouldn't buy a reel on his input.

Anyone notice that he had drag screwed up really tight!
    Ratchet sounded ok
Reel cap going by him is too small for beach work
3 bearings so non live spool/spindle like the Penns/ABU/Akios etc

Myself i'd do more researching/detective work

Plus as above want to see the innards as Okuma have made some pigs in there ranges with bearings at ends not supported well for one
but Okuma do have factory's that make for themselves and for other brands
