went for a few hours, armed only with 4/0 pulley rigs and razor,
cast out 50 yrds and moved back with the tide, after an hour and a half, had a couple of consistant tugs,
And wound in the first of 2 dogfish, and later a flounder of around 35cm whom had swallowed a whole razor and the 4/0 sakuma circular hook,
With the easterly wind creating no surf at all !, packed in and called it a night,
spoke to a few other anglers on the way back to the van whom were using maddies,Whom were having a few flounder, But fishing was slow,

HOPING WE GET A SOUTH/WESTERLY FOR NEXT WK.

Hi Craig ended up with 11 flounder and a bass of 20 inches
Garwyn had 5 flounder and a small bass. Well pleased with
the result as the conditions were not the best with no surf
Still thems the breaks better than a night in the van with the wife

    Cheers Kevin

Good report again Craig it still seems a little strange that you have stopped going after the flat ones but even then you get one on a 4/0 hook i still struggle when fishing 3 hook flapper with size 2. Down next week for another 8 days so lets just hope the wind does change or its going to be a long week. I am still trying to get hold of some maddies around the Cardiff area if anybody can help me, i leave from Caerphilly on Friday so starting to panic a bit.

Stick a it craig, you'll defo nail a monster silver on razor from pendine many get caught from there throughout the year, try a huge bait, amroth chucks up doubles this way, big bait dropped at low water in a good surf make sure you got about 300yds of 20lb on your reel and walk it up the beach to high, they'll SMASH it if they are there,

yeh, have just loaded a penn mag with 20lb maxima, After getting snapped by one over 5lb+ a few weeks back, It had slack lined me and was resting in about a ft of water to my left, As i walked out into the sea to quickly retrieve the slack line it few past me like a torpedo and snapped me,like cotton.

I prefer big capacity daiwa fixed spools myself, i use 15lb line with 30ft 50lb shockleader on the worm rod but on the big bait razor rod i wont ever go under 20lb and will go 25lb in a huge surf, with long 80lb shockleaders, try the running legers much less resistance for the bass to feel than pulleys, dont be afraid to fish a heavy beach rod they go mad in a good surf, left and right and out to sea inwards tryin to slackline you,
