    hi baz ive done both my sl20sh and yes they are smoother,but i dont think im getting more distance if i am it aint a lot

    Hi sinking man, Where did you get your bearings? .Ive got 4, SL30's and might do mine, Also do you know if they are the same size in the Saltists as ive got a pair of those as well

    I don't suppose you know what size they are ,Ive had a quick look but don't know what size bearings they are.

    I'd personally stick with the stock bushings, there is no point putting a bearing there. Same applies to the saltists. Their only job is to support the spool axle when retrieving loads, the stock bushings are more than adequate for the job and last years.

    Keep it clean and lightly oiled and forget about them. Adding a bearing adds unnecessary maintenance and doesn't increase freespool.

    I upgraded mine, doesn't actually do anything. If you remove the tensioner cap and spin the spool you will notice that the spindle doesn't really touch the inside of the bushing...just the tiniest of gaps, as a result my bearing 'upgrade' doesn't spin as there is so little/no contact...it is possible I have a slightly dud bearing, however when you consider that the spindle doesn't touch the factory installed bushing, adding a bearing here that does contact the spindle is actually increasing the friction not decreasing it.
