    South East Anglers
A charter boat sea angling club for individuals from SE England
New members are welcome and previous boat fishing experience is not needed! Tackle and help can be provided. If a trip is full do go on the reserve list as there are often last minute cancellations.

We have a rolling deposit system for bookings - Crew each pay a £65 deposit to protect the rest if one fails to turn up! Each trip they then pay cash for that trip on the day. Their deposit then rolls over to secure their booking for their next trip.

Single bookings can be made if paid for in advance for a one off trip. If you cancel five weeks before you will not lose your deposit. Under 5 weeks you will have to find somebody to take your place but the club and the Skipper will also try to fill your place. If the place is not filled you must pay for it. Members can invite guests but have to pay for them if they fail to show up.

Your SE Anglers deposit will book a place for you on any trip organised by any SEA member but the trip organiser will be the judge over lost deposits, deadlines for cancellations and any other arrangements.

Communication is normally by posts on this thread, by email, phone or text. Phone if your computer is down and I will text or phone you. If you have not had confirmation by 7.30 p.m the night before, of the trip being on or off, either on this forum thread or by phone, you should phone to check with me that the trip is still on. I will supply my full contact details to you when you join or book a place.

If you book a trip which runs you can express a preference in advance, or on deck, about the target fish and nature of the trip but finally it is the trip co-ordinator's and skipper's decision about what we do.There are times when the Skipper will suggest conger, bream, turbot, smooth hound, plaice fishing because of the weather or recent catches, instead of wrecking! If we want variety and fish to take home we should go with his advice. If you drop out you loose your deposit.

    EMERGENCIES
For safety please PM me your mobile and home telephone numbers and email address as well as full name address and who to contact in case of accidents or emergencies. This info is confidential and for me only, unless required by the skipper in an emergency. If you have any health/allergy/medication issues let me know - failure to do this resulted in two being airlifted to hospital on one of the trips!

DIRECTIONS TO SEA LEOPARD - Newhaven Marina

Meet in the car park in Fort Road to be on board by 7.30am.

From A27 take A26 to Newhaven. Follow brown signs for Newhaven Fort & Brighton.
Cross the bridge over the river stay in left lane. 100 yards take 2nd on left by a cream building called, "The Old Volunteer," into South Road. Stay on the road half a mile to a mini-roundabout. Harbourside Inn is on the right. Diagonally opposite is the FREE car park in front of closed down shops. Opposite this is a park and toilets. Looking at shops there is a cafe and tackle shop on the left beneath an apartment block out of sight from car park. The pontoon for boat is to the right of the old shops. Most of the guys meet in the car park [BN9 9GB]. There is a snack bar by the car park.

    Marina tackle shop is:-
    The Newhaven Angler
,(Glyn Hutchinson), Unit 2 Villandry, West Quay, Newhaven, East Sussex BN9 9GB Right by the marina and car park.
Open 7 days usually by about 7 a.m. but phone to order to be sure. Monday/Sunday close at 12.
phone: 01273512186 fax: 01273512186 Bait and tackle can be ordered in advance.

    LITTLEHAMPTON TRIPS
We have now got some bookings out of Littlehampton bait fishing for bream, bass, ray and smooth hound.
    The boat is boat Moonstone
    http://littlehamptoncharterfishing.co.uk/about-littlehampton-fishing-charters/
and the skipper Alan_Brighton who used to be a SE Anglers member. Trips will be limited to 5 to 7 crew as it is a smaller boat. Waterproofs are essential as shelter is limited. Littlehampton is tidal so times change for each date and will be confirmed prior to each trip. Bait and tackle are available from Hook-a-Fish in Pier Road – www.hookafish.co.uk / 07412 407447. This can be ordered in advance for collection on the day or the night before.

The mooring is beside Pier road and the gangway is almost opposite the tackle shop, near the Harbour Office .......bear in mind that parking restrictions are in force so be careful when parking. Bayford Road or Clifton Road for parking....if not it'll have to be a car park like the one by the lifeboat station at about £6 for the day.

It is quite clear on Google maps. Café just further along the road away from the sea does fantastic breakfast or bacon/egg sandwiches to take away

Personally always happy to pay a bit more to go further out/have a less crowded boat/chance of different species etc.

The weather for thursday is looking good for extra miles so whoever is going I wish them tight lines.

I can only go sunday therefore I'll go regardless of the species or the weather but would prefer more fishing time and less travelling time.

    Cheers

I think you should try to maximise fish rather than fishing time :boat:

I have gotta agree with groomyd here if the skipper is prepared to do the long haul go with it hes not burning fuel for no reason 6 hours good fishing beats 10 hours **** fishing everytime.

Seeing as Groomy had a good day with John on Thursday, paying extra £10 to go the extra distance offshore, are we all happy to do the same tomorrow??

He who dares Rodney, he who dares!:fishing:

Why get up at silly oclock, spend on gear, lures, weights, lunch and petrol and not give yourself the best chance of catching?
