Pete/john thinking about it might be easier to reschuffle lifts ? As I'm about 5 miles closer to john it will keep his cost down a touch.

I think five would be tight in the car, but happy to all squeeze in or we could take 2 cars ?

    Thoughts ?

John, I'm coming from west London but going into Shepherd's Bush is an absolute ball ache.

If you can get to somewhere near the outskirts of west London, I can pick you up

One of our best days out of Littlehampton on Moonstone. The sea was flat calm and the sun was out all day. Some caught sun burn as well as fish. When we anchored up I had a hit before my rig hit the bottom! Mackerel! That was just the start. Within minutes more mackerel and the first of many bream and I pulled in an edible size spider crab. It went a bit quiet so Alan, the skipper, suggested a move. The new mark soon produced a thornback ray and the first of a couple of dozen tope. At slack water things died down and Alan suggested we moved offshore 3 or 4 miles to a mark that has previously produced well. It did again - ray, smooth hound, tope, bream, mackerel, gurnard, scad and a starfish.

As the tide picked up we drifted for half an hour feathering for mackerel. We had around 40 but it was very patchy. Anchoring up again more inshore in less tide we were straight into bream.

Everyone had fish to take home and we had a really nice day.

We are taking on new members - see the 1st post on this tread. We also have places on 6, 13,20 September.. Send me contact details in a PM if interested.

I'm going straight from work that morning and getting someone to come in early to get me away so it is going to be very tight on timings for me. So i won't be able to do any car shares, sorry.

Guys last Sunday we again had problems with people using 2 and even 3 rods, also pirks and feathers when the rest were bait fishing. Many tangles resulted.

Can we please agree that it is :-

    1. one rod only unless the skipper agrees to two over slack water. No more than 2 ever.
    2. no mackerel fishing unless for bait fish while others are bait or lure fishing.
    3. if the majority of the crew want mackerel then we all fish for them after lunch in the afternoon for a set time.

Sunday we pooled all mackerel and shared them equally at the end of the day. This seemed to work well. Worth repeating?
