Looking ok for Sunday so far......One of my crew is going to try and pick up some live sandeels so we can have a few drifts for bass......so make sure you can rig up for that.....a simple 3 way swivel tied to the mainline, weight on the bottom and a trace from the spare eye will do.
As Pete said earlier one rod each is plenty when there are seven on board so that there is room for all to fish comfortably.
Arthur will confirm with me on Saturday around 6pm that the trip is on.
    Cheers, Al.

I managed to get about 40 live sandeels this evevening - hoping they will stay alive overnight, I also got a bag of dead sandeels (freshly dead!) - make a great ray bait. Dead ones were free but the live ones I purchased - Al will sort something out with regards to payment. Hope that is ok with everyone on tomorrow's trip.

We'll we had a nice day afloat Alan is a very friendly and helpful skipper. The sun came out and a few fish played ball. Won't spoil scrottox posting of the days events but will just say I'm looking forward to my and matts next trip in October. Really nice wetting a line with everyone and thanks matt for getting the sandeels,. I had my first smoothie and it was brilliant and reminded me of fishing in the Florida keys, sizzling runs and a dogged fight and all in the sunshine

Gorgeous flat calm and sunshine as we headed out on Alan Brighton's Moonshine. Drifting live sandeels for Bass was our first objective - a highly successful tactic. The Bass, however, have been reading different articles and books. Not a sausage.
In retrospect, the sighting of a pod of dolphins close by just as were preparing to drift for Bass might have been the killer factor. Alan did comment that "That'll b****r up the Bass-fishing".
Alan then took us round a variety of marks as the tide and conditions varied. In came the species - Smooth Hound, Starry Smooth Hound, Cuttlefish (one of which showed its appreciation by a ginormous jet of black ink onto those standing nearby), Spotted Ray, Dogfish, Undulate Ray, a couple of small Bream, Pollack, a Tope, Thornback Ray but no Bass. Oh, and a starfish. The hounds were up to 11lb plus in weight with the Undulate coming in at just over 13lb. So not a bad selection of species and a thoroughly enjoyable day with the sun still shining and feeling very warm later on.
Excellent work by Alan and a fantastic, cheerful crew.
    Arthur

I'd rather cancel, I need to organise other things rather than wait for a late decision
