    i wish mate.

inside the reel seat is an ally tube and its that that gave way.

id say its less than .5mm thick so not really up to the job.

it snapped whilst fighting a conger.

The new range of ugly stiks are rubbish, nowhere near the quality of the older ones.. Email them that and see what they say (most prob agree with you !!)

I have 1 older built rod and 2 newer versions and all 3 are excellent.

The newer ones feel a bit more light weight and not had any problems with them.

great rods for the price i had a 17lb undulate ray and on striking i heard a creaking coming from the reel seat area but its a 12/20 so maybe i overloaded it that said i would still buy the same rod again so light i have x2 12/20 20/30s and 30/50s these are a bit of a beast dont tend to use these much cos after using the lighter rods these seem very heavy

I've got the 20/30 which I use when I need more lead because of the current and it's been no problem handling up to 1.5lb of lead and a 40lb Conger
