I used to use one quite a lot.

loved the feel of it though i felt it was a bit soft in the butt for my style

it still chucked the heavy leads a long way though

A "bit" soft in the butt? You still got that picture Mark? Think you posted it a couple of years ago of you wrapping the ZTI around your shoulders :roll1:

At the time i was using a TT-R for the light leads but found it a bit much on the 175 which is why i got the ZTI . hence, i never really used it on the light leads to give an opinion.

    for Stuart :)

That is a cracking picture Mark thanks for putting up again, also what i find intresting is you were using a rod that is possible a more through action for one of the heavier leads was there a reason you favoured the ZTI for that lead.

Most of the rods that i have used for casting are through action. The tt-R was a bit too powerful and stayed a bit too long during the cast for m3e to finish the cast effectively so i tried something a bit softer and therefore shorter for the heavier leads

Mike Birks had a ZTI at the time and was doing well with it. Mike is a VERY powerful caster so i thought it might be ideal but i soon suspected that Mikes rod didnt have a standard butt :)

The problem, for me, is that when a rod is bent that much, you get a delay between the hit and the recovery which wasnt to my tastes. Still a nice rod though that held my pb on the 175g for a long time

I used the Zti a fair bit in the earlier part of my casting and have a few videos that you can have a look at .

    http://youtu.be/xtwA7wpuI2o

    Also 150 gram

    http://youtu.be/oqQ8075MAkY

    as well as the 125

    http://youtu.be/23jZC-pfwc8

The rod has a powerfull tip section that loads right through the mid section and down into the butt as Mark has mentioned . This doesn't mean that the butt is soft more that it is easier to load than a lot of rods. My rod had the Fulcrum design and bent to much for my liking as I have the bad habit of hitting the rod early and with the delay in the recovery it caused me a bit of grief.

    Hope these help.

Dan I had my ZTI around the same time as mark , I have cast all leads on it from 50g to 200g with out any problems ,

My rod is slightly diff to marks rod I asked TC for a stiffer butt wich he told me was roughly 40% more power than the standard also the rod has a slightly beefed up mid section .

As mark I still found the rod to be on the soft side for the big leads but where this rod comes in to it's own is on the lighter leads my 50g & 75g pb's are with this rod . I have done some massive casts in practice on the 100g using the ZTI .
