Gemini Genie Rig Jig
Most anglers make their own rigs and this rig jig from Gemini makes their construction and uniform sizing a whole lot easier.
The rig jig is two angles pieces of plastic with bent wire tags on one, and two wire grips on the other. The jigs need fixing to a piece of wood. I mounted my jig on a straight 6-foot length of 2 x 1 softwood. There are holes predrilled in the jig bases 1ins apart. What I did was the anchor the grip jig at the end of the wood with wood screws, and from 18-inches up the wood drill holes every 1ins right to the end so that I only need to move the holding jig to accommodate different length rig bodies. I bolted in bolts to the jig, counter sunk the drill holes in the wood just deep enough to take the lock nuts underneath the jig base, and these go in the holes deep enough to hold the jig secure, but are instantly moveable.
The wire hook jig has wires to accommodate both large and small accessories. The grip jig has a rubber strip under the wire grips for security and the whole system works extremely well. I cheated and found that I could make four rigs at once trapping the lead connector ends under the grip wires and putting four swivels on to wire hooks. You can then position all the beads and swivel identically to make uniform rigs.
Anybody who makes all his or her own rigs, shore or boat, will find this a big time saver.
The Gemini Genie Rig Jig retail at £14.50 and is available from all good tackle shops or contact
