Reuben Heaton Luminescent Specimen Hunter Millennia Scales

If you are serious about recording your big fish accurately, then you need a dependable set of weigh scales.

The new Reuben Heaton Specimen Hunter Millennia scales are made from a tough black polycarbonate body with stainless steel hanging hook and support ring. They offer a dual revolution face, the first full revolution reading half the weight limit and the second revolution going all the way round to full weight reading. The dial has easy to read numbers and a big dial marker finger. The dial face also has a beta light illumination facility for easy reading in the dark.

In testing, the scales have proved tough, easy to read and above all accurate. We weigh fish like tope and huss in a large sling suspended on the hook by straps to protect the fish. The adjustment knob to set the scale to zero is large and easy to grip with cold wet fingers.

lumi_hunter.jpgThe scales measure 61/2 inches round and are light enough to easily be carried in a rucksack or tackle box. The scales come in four sizes, 30lb x 1/2oz, 60lb x 1oz, 120lb x 2oz, and 240lb x 4ozs. The 60lb version should cover most UK shore anglers, but the 120lb scales are useful if you have aspirations of breaking the UK conger record or bagging the first ever shore blue shark. All sizes cost around £97. Dinghy and boat anglers might also prefer the 120lb version.

The scales also have optional accessories in the form of a protective pouch, a weigh bar for easy lifting of heavy fish, plus a weigh sling. The bar and pouch are really essential for serious sea anglers and well worth adding to your shopping list. The bar costs about £8.25 and the pouch £13.

Available from good tackle shops and all Leeda stockists.
