Innovative Fly Patterns

This beautifully compiled book has 200 pages covering 250 saltwater fly patterns and superbly illustrated with colour photographs. It covers some of the history of saltwater fly fishing, but brilliantly brings together no less than 37 of the greatest saltwater fly tiers and fly fisherman who independently detail their favourite fly pattern innovations, the stories behind their creation and their dressing materials, but also discuss their successful techniques and tackle.

There are fly patterns for just about everything from striper bass, through bonefish, tarpon and permit to sharks and billfish.

This a real anglers book. Being a fly fisher is almost inconsequential. It is entertaining as well as highly educational. It will increase your understanding of saltwater flies and how to build them to imitate certain food items. But beyo0nd that there are scores of little tips and tricks hidden within the words of the writers that will lead you towards improving your overall catch rate.

As a keen collector of books on anything fishing related, I've built up a few favourites over the years, but this one goes straight in to my top five and is a book to cherish.
