Mick Ball Pro Build Reeflite Inshore 20 Boat Rod
BUILD FORMAT
The short butt has a rubber butt cap with a long PVA foam grip extending up the butt to the reel seat. The seat is a quality Fuji DPS pattern, with a 5-inch foam grip above. The tip carries eight Fuji BNHG intermediate rings, with a Fuji BHPT tip ring.
The black whipping threads are immaculately finished and tipped with gold. These are protected by a glossy high build finish. The graphite grey blank and black whippings combine to make the rod look stunningly classy.
PERFORMANCE
This blank is rated as a 20lb class. It is such a light, well balanced rod that I feel it will give its best with 15lb lines. The rod measures 8-feet in length and has a fast action with a powerful butt.
It is lightweight, responsive in the hands, signals delicate bites, and I feel is perfect for fishing for flatfish, gurnards and codling, but also has the versatility to target sandbank bass, fish artificial lures for wreck and reef pollack, and even take on tope if you're in to light tackle thrills. If you need to hold a rod and feel for bites, such as when fishing sandeel for bass, then you can hold this rod all day without fatigue.
With the tip section being just 6-feet long, anyone fishing abroad a lot will find this powerful but lightweight rod ideal for light boat fishing for roosterfish, dorado and even sailfish. It's also perfect for either trolling or casting plugs and lures around reef structure.
The rod costs £149.99 and is exclusively available custom built from Mick Ball, Custom Rod Builder, 26 Marlborough Road, Townmoor, Doncaster, South Yorks DN2 5DF. Tel: 01302 738774.
