Halco Twisty Lures

Halco, an Australian based company, are mostly known for their range of top quality plugs, but they also do some classic spinners too.

For European anglers after sea bass, pollack, coalfish, mackerel and garfish, and for those anglers lucky enough to be fishing in warmer waters after bluefish, bonito and a host of other inshore predators, then the Twisty lure has a lot to offer.

The design incorporates the ends of the lure being bent upwards at the front and downwards at the rear. This creates an "injured" fish type of action with sudden twists to the side using a steady medium retrieve rate. Its shape though, is such that it casts like a bullet making it ideal for long-range shore work. The lure also sinks quickly.

The gold plated 40gm version I've found excellent in low light levels such as evening towards dusk or early dawn periods. The gunmetal colour is more suited for brighter daytime fishing in clear water. The lures carry a reflective patterned strip along the outside facing edge to give extra attraction via sight.
