Neon Crow Craft Beads

Never get the moans when your wife wants to have a look in a craft shop. I got dragged in to just such an emporium recently, dragged kicking and screaming would be nearer the mark, but came out with a smile on my face having added a couple of unexpected treasures to my tackle box.

I came across these Neon Crow Beads by Impex. I hadn't got the guts to ask the assistant what they are used for, but these brightly multi coloured beads are oval in shape with flattened ends, measure about 8mms across and have a 4mm hole through the centre.

I've found really effective used in alternate colours as attractor beads on hook traces by spacing them out with smaller 5mm round beads in between for drift fishing rigs targeting plaice, dabs, turbot and brill, also for gurnards, whiting and haddock. I also use them as pulley rig stop beads against a smaller bead on my rough ground shore rigs. These beads are also ideal for making your own lead release links. Best of all, they cost me just 95p for 100 beads.

neon_crow.jpgImpex also make barrel shaped beads and standard round beads in multi colours. I'm told they are widely avaliable from most good craft shops.

If in doubt, contact Impex for the nearest stockists. Impex, Impex House, Atlas Road, Wembley, HA9 0TZ.
