Written by Mike Thrussell This famous rig is the recognised way to fish any artificial eel over a reef or wreck. Tie the main reel line to the top of a 14in French boom. At the base of the boom add a few inches of light line to take the lead that will break if the lead snags. The hook trace should be a minimum of 10ft in a light tide run, but increased up to 18ft during the main flow period. Use clear mono, not coloured. FLYING COLLAR RIG (artificial eels)
