Killer Gear Written by Mike Thrussell If it's sheer numbers of reef or wreck fish like pollack and cod that appeal to you, then this is the one to choose. Take about 5ft of 75lb mono and either tie on a 3/0 oval split ring, or knot a loop into the end of the line if you want to use a weak link of line. Use two blood loops to create the hook traces spaced equally apart along the trace. For main line connection go for either a stainless wire DIY job, or a size 4 rolling swivel. You can fish two redgills on this, two muppets, or plain 4/0 to 8/0 hooks baited with mackerel etc. All work extremely well. Alternatively, add a pirk instead of a weight direct to the split ring.
