A useful rig for whiting, but is also good for gurnards, flatfish, dogs etc, that will lift off the bottom to feed as the tide eases. Mount one hook trace tight behind the lead, one in the middle of the rig and one at the top to cover different depths. You can replace the three hook trace swivels with booms if you prefer.

Alternatively, use the rig with just one boom and trace with adjustable phone wire stops which makes a good bream and gurnard rig.
