Tucked half blood knot
Good for attaching hooks, lures, swivels etc, of all sizes. Reliability up to 88% thanks to the final tuck in of the free end.
The free end is passed through the eye of the hook etc, and fed through to leave about 6" spare. Twist the free end around the main line five times for lines over 15lb, 6 times for lines below 15 lbs. Bring the free end backwards towards the hook in a loop to pass through the eye made by the two lines at the connection with the hook. Bring the free end forwards pushing it through the loop between the twists over the main line and the upper loop formed by the free end. This is the final tuck that gives the knot it's strength and avoids slip under pressure.
