    Dear Member

The Angling Trust Sussex Marine Region (ATSMR) and the National Mullet Club have organised a Mullet Masterclass Day for members to show you how to target grey mullet in Sussex. The first Masterclass was held in 2014 and we received some great feedback after a very successful day. Watch the video here:

This year we will be staging the event again, this time in Shoreham Harbour at the north bank, the same location where we stage the ATSMR Family Fishing Day events. The average size of the grey mullet has increased considerably on the previous two seasons and plenty seem to be coming to the net when using the right tactics.

The date for the event is Saturday, 18th July 18th. Start time: 9.00am

We ask everyone to register for a place by email to [email protected]

Due to our 2 metre social distancing agreement with the Harbour Master, spaces are limited to 25 anglers. The event is also open to non-members of the Angling Trust but everyone must register beforehand.

Steve Smith from the National Mullet Club will give a demonstration on ideal rods, reels, best tackle to use and ground baiting.

Location will be the north bank inside Shoreham Harbour situated on the A259 coast road roughly 300 metres east of the Schooner Inn, 146 Albion St, Southwick. BN42 4AU. You can park along Albion St and the side roads. Harbour parking is limited to permits only. The north bank is the redundant grass embankment directly north of Shoreham Power Station.

You will need to bring your own small fixed spool reel and quivertip rod, 9-11ft barbel rod or float rod is ideal. You will also need one fresh loaf of medium sliced bread for bait and some liquidised bread for groundbait if possible, however some groundbait will be provided on the day if you have none.

    Looking forward to seeing you!
