Was out setting a creel from the shore between Hopeman and Lossie and spotted two fish drifting about the rocks. Probably about 40-50cm and around 2lbs. I think they are probably mullet but not certain. Can anyone confirm Mullet in the area or suggest what they might be? I took the photos...

Tried so much to catch mullet in Cornwall in a river eastuary and had no luck. Size 8/10 hook, I’ve tried prawns/bread/bread-tuna ground bait/ scented jelly sandworm. Nothing seems to help. Any other ideas I can try? Thanks guys

Been mullet fishing for the last couple months. In that time I've had some 12-or-so mullet - and perhaps as many spit the hook. All three of what would have likely been PB's (guessing 5-7lb) have done so. It's not a problem I've come across with other types of fishing. Does anyone have any...

I'm relatively new to mullet fishing, having only landed my first around 2 months ago. I've since had about 12 of them - by no means do I think this makes me an expert!! But 12 fish is enough to begin to understand the anatomy of the species. From the beginning I've been told "mullet have soft...

Hi folks, was just wondering if the pond beside the martlesham creek house-boats was fishable? i've seen some fish activity (assuming mullet, but hoping small bass) in there and was wondering what method i could use to catch them as well as what tide time e.g. from low till high or a couple of...

The species hunt has stalled recently and with the bad weather on the way I wasn't expecting to get out at the weekend so a quick mid-week sesh seemed sensible. I have not caught a smelt for decades but we used to get them off the pier in Pompey on a fine handline, tiny hook and a pinch of bread...

Few chucks on the incoming tide no bass about on slack tide inside wall noticed some mullet swimming about the moorings right in front of the tackle shop/ice cream shop. Fun on light tackle and free lined baits. Saved a blank

Hi, am going to be around Aberystwyth (ceredigion) next week and was wondering if anyone knows if it is worth targetting mullet in the harbour/marina there. Have never tried to target mullet before so any advice would be welcome.

At the beginning of the month Mike Thrussell Snr published a really interesting blog post titled 'Cabin Fever' I recommend anyone who hasn't already should have a read. Since the blog post was written unfortunately the weather conditions haven't shown any signs of letting up in any significant...
