problems with pulley rigs

Hi just wondering what rigs people used for winter cod? Just iv been using pulley single hook or pennel rigs. Because I thought it was the best for the marks i fish. Iv been reading through some threads and some people are saying they loose fish off the pulley design so have swapped to clipped...
