  1. Rig Making Forum.
Hi, I was just wondering what people use for rif winders. I find the shop bought ones end up quite expensive. I know some people use swimming noodles however they seem to be too foam like and I thought they would tear quite easily. Can anyone recommend anything? Thanks

ive been making my own rigs for a while now, and have made a few clipped down rigs. Take a pulley rig for example. I always have a shock leader 60-80lb and rig body will be 50-60lb. Snoods will be 20-25lb. Now, here comes my query. If I clip down my pulley rig this takes weight off rig body and...

New To Sea Fishing, looking for some advice on rig building. How do you build a rig to match the venue you are fishing? I mainly fish for small species like Whiting, Dabs, on a sandy beach. If the tide is strong do I use shorter snoods or longer? How long should the rig body be? I usually...

Went out fishing yesterday afternoon at Thornton cleverleys with my old man. Fished 2hr prior to high tide (9.6m!) then roughly an hour afterward before giving up. Another blank day! Last couple of times I’ve been and not caught anything except weed and a skeleton of a pigeon. We was using...

Ive made my first batch of Mackerel Lures since Childhood (35 years ago !) I think it will only be rewarding if i catch on them in the summer but i think a decent Aberdeen 2/0 Should help. My biggest issue is that a string of four took 40 minutes for my fat clumsy fingers to make ! Cost me 45...

Could I get people's thoughts on this rig? It's basically an upside down pulley rig, but would it fish like a running ledger? Obviously the amount of "run" would be down to the length of the pulley but would it work? Anyone use anything like this?

Hi all have a couple of questions is it too late in the year to dig lug? I hear they are to small for bait in the winter or go down too deep to dig and if so what months do people generally stop/start digging them. Also what length of snood is best and hook size? I have been using 5/0 sakuma...
