  1. Shore Angling
More obvious general factors, like over fishing by commercial boats through the second half of the 20th century aside; one of the big puzzles to me had always been, why the drop in Cod seemed to hit my area of Essex more than a lot of other UK marks? (spoiler alert........be prepared...
  2. Shore Angling
Anyone here fished Dawlish Warren beach? Any good? What fish? What tides are best? From what I've seen in apps showing depth, it seems quite deep far out, so if the tide is out you're close to deeper areas?
  3. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scotland Catch Reports
Right all just a quick report Plenty little Coalies in the harbor mouth as usual though not as many bigger fish today. Only about 9 - 10 fish in total. 3 decent size the rest wee ones. Then along came two little rusty red fish that I'm not too sure what they were. Could anyone let me know...
  4. South Coast & Channel Islands Catch Reports
This looks awfully like a white bream to me, or do the juvenile black ones look like this? caught on flattie rig, tide just rising, lugworm bait. Not what I was expecting (or looking for). Now back on its travels...
  5. South East Catch Reports
Evening all, complete beginner to fishing in general but decided to get into beach/estuary. I’ve had a few ventures out and as fun as it is feeding the fish I’ve had not so much as a bite! I’m sure I’m missing something critical but I can’t see it. I usually fish the Grays Wharf or down by the...

  9. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 South & West Wales Catch Reports
Hi guys! Just come back from Cold Knap expecting a good couple of Doggies & maybe an odd Ray, but instead... a blank, somehow? I was fishing two big baits on two rods, hoping for either an early pack of Smoothies to come around or to see if a Ray was lurking about, but instead, all I got were...
  10. Bait Discussion
Hi all, I've been looking into oils for old baits such as Solent Seagoo & Holy Mackerel, the thing that's stopping me tho is whether it's effective or not... I don't need to buy something that's not going to work so if anybody has used them before for either boat or shore (which I'm preferring...

  12. 🆕 New Member Introductions
I've recently just retaken fishing up, I used to do it when I was a kid with my father. Have a question regarding what knifes and what's legal and what's not to have while fishing for gutting and descaling
  13. Tackle & Equipment Discussions
Hi all, I'm going to try to catch a porbeagle from the shore this summer. However, the only tough enough rods I have are boat rods (30-50lb class) so would have some obvious disadvantages owing to their short length. I don't know much about big beachcasters, so was wondering if anybody might be...

--hope it is ok to post this on the general discussion board-- Hi all, This summer, probably in June, I am going to try to catch a porbeagle from the shore. I have a location in the Hebrides which is not fished at all by other people (at least not seriously) which comprises a sharp headland...

Very hectic conditions of late on my trip up to north wales for the final time this year. Lockdown pending. The start of the week saw light northerlis. This mean topwaters on the beach!
