Starved freedom in the last year we were just able to travel a little further this time , a mere 40 miles .
Fishing the Clyde estuary is always a challenge but the paddle is always amazingly worth it .
2 miles paddle .
First sea fish 2021 and surely a Pb Ballan Wrasse .
I have a last-minute plan to fish for Pollock and Wrasse in the Pembroke area tomorrow morning, but have just realised it’s falling tide with a low tide around 11am.
What are my chances on the ebb and around low tide?
If I were to try jigging for wrasse (or bass) from Gorleston pier would I be wasting my time?
If not how should I go about it, e.g with a Texas style rig, drop shotting or using some other method?
With the weather fine, warm and settled as it is I thought it might be worth a go...
Change of scenery this week , we went up the highlands .
Fishing and weather was mixed .
We also have a new addict .

New kayaker doing well on his first sea adventure .
Had some fun with the small pollock .
Doing the mini species challenge , managed 7 .
I've seen varying opinions about reel line setups, but not really sure whats the right answer. Target species: Sea Bass, Pollock, and Wrasse. Fishing method: Lure Fishing. Currently have 20lb braid as main line, should my leader line by lighter test or heavier test, i.e. 15lb mono or...

We always enjoy the sea , the fresh air and the big spaces . It was time to head back to the Clyde , the west coast of Scotland near Ardrossan looked perfect . It's december now and it's fresh . We dressed up accordingly to withstand the cold , took advantage of a high tide and went .
We did not have to travel too far this week , we went down the Clyde , actually Rhu .
We did not have to paddle far either , we decided to shelter from the cold easterly wind .
We enjoy Lrf fishing , either on soft lure or drop shot . We soon found some fish .
A few species here and...
It's kayak Monday . The weather is cooler , let's see if there is any fish left in the clyde . Today we start from Rhu point .
Great to be on the water , it's flat calm .
Working the soft lure .The mackerel are still about .
Plenty of those pollock , coley , great fun on light tackle ...
im new to sea fishing having only really taken a keen interest from early this year.
had the chance to get to angelsey for a couple of days fishing this weekend so thought i would start at gallows point for low tide and fish until Malcoms shop opened for me to get some bait other than the...
This week we fancied a little trip out to sea . More and more kayakers are joining in on our weekly trips enjoying the great outdoor safely . At low tide it was a fair trek reaching the water .
The wind was moderate and the sea lumpy we paddled .
It was like roller coaster at times ...
Going down to the Torbay area to visit my parents this summer. Haven't done a huge amount of fishing since they moved down there but was going to target Wrasse this time around.
The locations are the typical Torbay area ones: Sharkham, Brixham Breakwater, Elburry etc.
The question is... will...
I’ve been using soft plastics for about 70% of my bass fishing and almost exclusively for wrasse.
When using a Jika/ Cheburashka/Texas rig, and using certain brands of SP, I am casting out thinking everything is fine in the world only to reel in and find my tasty morsel has slipped down the...
Last weekend I went over to the Isle of Man for a long weekend. What a fantastic place! The water is crystal clear, the scenery is stunning and there are loads of fishy looking marks.
As it was only a short trip with family I didn't have much time for fishing but managed to get out for two...
Hi, just been fishing in Skye and caught a 1lb 12oz Cuckoo Wrasse at Rubha Hunish. I put it back alive as it was too cute to bang on the head.
I was alone on the point, but was wondering if a Scottish fish can be witnessed alive then returned and the record claimed?
Sun shine and Lrf so close to the big city . This is Greenock on a gorgeous sunny day , the firth of Clyde . I am not and never will be expecting anything big in this part of the world but still enjoy a good rattle on the rod . Light rock fishing is fun and I think the kids would love that , I...
