Fished a last minute session with Martin Saturday at one of the local marks his end.... armed with two bottles of San Migel, two packets of Space Raders and a double Snickers type thingy!

Arrived just before high water, and just late enough to miss most off the digging :whistling

Martin frantically dug up half the beach, you could swear he'd lost treasure LoL! but we managed just enough for a session, just.

Weather was fantastic, surf slight...

The fishing was slower than expected, but a few tiddlers showed their fishy faces around high water, two decent sized pout and a boot-lace silver for Martin...

aka Doctor Evil :spiteful:

It was looking 'pants' for me, being three down when, on our pretty much last cast, tap-tap-tap.... Ooooo, this feels good!

Wonga PB, 4-5lb's at a loose gestimate and not a happy chappy!

We then decided to make the most of the night and nip back to Mart's for a coffee or two and fish the incoming at 3.30am.

Got back down the shoreline for 2 in the a.m and picked some hard backs and velvets before trooping down the beach for a mile or so, something that i struggled with for the last 1/4 mile, mumbling to myself :schmoll:

We set up in a gentle surf and what we thought was ideal smoothie weather, but not one single hound showed!?

Its was pretty quiet until just after the turn of the tide, then i had a good couple of plucks on the TT lite!! giving a gentle strike, and then realising Martins rig was over my line, i thought bugger, false alarm but it felt really different, i could feel twinge's as Martin was untangling his rig, and it wasn't Martin so i asked him to make haste in slightly different words, but the lead i was using on a pulley/rotton bottom had gone to ground, DOH!

I now faced the fact that i had a possible fishie on the end, and a snagged weigh

All i could do was walk back slowly and wait for the 'ping' of the weak link.... one ping later and a frantic wind in to take up the slack and it felt like nothing was there.

Dis-heartened i reeled in, but as the rig got to the small surf in front of me, the rod pulled against me! it must have been swimming into the tide, then turned as the water shallowed.

PB Bass :yeah: 55cm and as neather of us had scales, 4lb and an ounce or two, give or take using the BASS measurement conversion.

That was the only fish of the second session, but one i wont forget.

Dropped Martin off around 6am and headed home, which was fun and a little scary at times due to being cream crackered.

Ill not be out with the rods for a while due to personal matters, but im looking at them now, and they are whispering 'take me fishing, you know you want too'.

which i do :fishing1:

Good fishing again with you Mart, still smugly grinning now ;)
