I fished the Holbeach club match at Winthorpe Skeg on sat evening 2.30 till 7.30 high tide about 5.30 and the weed was bad for a start difficult to hold out for more than a few mins after about half hour it got better and I the started to catch whiting ended with 27 fish on my card 24 whiting 3 dabs for 8lb 6oz on the conversion chart and won the match and had the biggest fish 35cm whiting.
Then early start (3.30 alarm) Sunday morning for run up to Stally arrived about 5.30 for 6ish high tide and it was a cod first cast and had 7 in size in the first 2 hours then the sizeable ones disappeared and I fished on till 1.30 for just a few undersized cod a rocklling and a big flounder 34cm
Best cod 3lb 11 ozs one more at 3.6 and the rest between 1.9 and 2. 10
Bag weight for the 7 cod was 17 lb 3 ozs
All caught on big fresh lug baits on 2/0 pennels
Cod count up to 48 in 11 trips now should get to 50 next time out
