Early reports of a bass taken on the Isle of Wight in past few days weighing 24lb. Evidently it was weighed and photo'd before being released. Trying to find out more but supposedly off the shore at West Wight.

Just a rumour at the moment although the captor has been named and is supposedly a well know bass angler on the Island.

Yep diffinately happened....It was one of my shorter casts from bembridge ledges to gilkicker point. Gave a lovely struggle for half an hour. Only spoiler being woken up by the flash from all the cameras. And getting scratched by a disgruntled cat as i held it at arms lenght for the pics. Bugger it was a dream....But at same time hope it's a dream that came true for someone out there.

you would think after 2 days a report and photo of such a great fish would show fingers cross a photo will come out

It looks like another story that has got a bit twisted. The guy that was credited with it's capture actually weighed in 24lb OF bass in a recent competition and that's where the confusion has arisen.
