it was one of those, " when you got to go, you've just got too " night.
Weather forecast wasn't the best but hey had to be worth an hour or two.
Got to the beach around 8pm for the 10pm HW.
As forecast there was a stiff WSW, breeze and a fair bit of surf and swell. So it was a case of I'm here so give it a go.
First casts with plain sandeel one one and a wrap on the other. By the time the second rod was out the first was slamming down and a spirited fight in the rough sea produced a smalleyed around 9lb.
Out again and 15mins later another thumping bite and another smalleyed.
Third time lucky and another smalleyed slid onto the pebbles.
These all came on the wraps then it was the plain sandeel that produced but this time a nice spotty came ashore.
40minutes and 4 fish.

Sadly that was it. Fished up to HW and back for an hour without another bite.

Fishing skills can be taught but that old gut feeling just comes with years of hard work and experience. That's top class fishing Keith.

Anyone who has fished around Barry will tell you, the woofs will return soon enough but for now it's just nice to miss out on them.....
