here is a piccy for you all. caught this week from our shore. i heard the rumours yesterday and then saw a friend of the lad who got it. yes it was on a longline but what a cracker. 41lb gutted. theres hope for us yet.

Maybe its the way the pic has been taken but to me it doesn't look that big, sorry. Still a great catch though.

yep , I thought the same but the commercial boys were on about it on the radio the other day and I'm assuming it was weighed at the fish market??? I took a pic of a double bass last year and when we looked at the pic later it looked only about 5-6 lb .

Dont get me wrong Im not trying to say its not that size, most of us are used to seeing giant cod on the front of magazines or from Norway trips that look way bigger.

Maybe one of the one's that have goten away with a few of comericals running the new scheme. Gives hope to our waters.

you can get a rough idea say the head looks like 12-14lb tail section 10lb belly 20lb then you can get some idea
