Nice video mate. Coor that bring back memories when I was a lot younger. I used to go out of Southwold with some of the ole boys herringing. Loved it.
Its surprising how many people did go netting for herring years ago. The good days before courses, legislation and stupid rules. Now you have to got on a dozen courses before you can step on a commercial boat

The prices at market have generally been poor the last few years, so not many people are bothering to fish for them. Also 3 boats that fished for them in my village have packed in. The rules and regs are getting silly, low prices and increased costs have made it to the point it鈥檚 barely worth fishing for them

Such a shame I try every year to get a few boxes when there full of roe and milt my whole family love them I could get rid of 3 or 4 boxes but can never get hold of any, I would have thought they would be worth something as bait if nothing else?

Catching them on rod and line off eastbourne since early december when the weather has been calm. Unfortunately the weather has only been calm for about 4 days in the whole of that period. Had two planned trips cancelled this week alone.

Yes you鈥檙e right there bud, I still keep in touch with a couple of commercial fishermen and they have said there is a lot of hoops to jump through.

But I did see a boat out there will a long line of boys drifting along on the tide I wondered what they were fishing for. Thanks

Hello, it was my father on the bank holiday, I was struck down with the dreaded sickness bug. He had 4 boxes of herring I think.
